Musicians Gone Too Soon
A Battle Lost To Mental Illness
This is a quick look at musicians we have lost to mental illness. According to AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention), men die by suicide 3.5x more often than women. Women attempt suicide 2x more often than men. On average, there are 121 suicides per day.
Musicians With A Message
For decades, mental illness has been looked upon as a shameful character flaw, and the people suffering from them are silenced and judged as if the disorder was preventable. Many musicians have decided to use their platform as a way to bring more awareness to the issue. With a staggering number of people with mental illness being untreated, and the stigmatism we face, the time has come to shine some light on everything that is mental health.
